Effie Bennett Gordon, 91, of Circleville, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, at Spruce Knob, the daughter of the late Moses R. Bennett and Mary Ellen Kyle.
She was married to Harry Jay Gordon, who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2003.
She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Anderson of Eagle Rock, Va., Shelby Mullenax of Harman, Sandra Lambert of Seneca Rocks and Wilma Lambert of Stuart, Va.; three sons, Randolph Gordon of Circleville, and Ronald Gordon and Donald Gordon, both of Green Bank; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by three half brothers and five half sisters.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Basagi Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment will be at North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton.

Harry Jay Gordon, 91, of Harry Gordon Road, Circleville, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Gordon was born May 3, 1911, in Circleville and was the son of the late William Gordon and Mary Nelson Gordon.
He retired from the U.S. Forestry Service with 28 1/2 years of service.  He was a wildlife manager and deputy game warden.  He was a Methodist and a member of the Moose Lodge and Isaac Walton League.
Surviving are his wife, Effie Bennett Gordon; four daughters, Bonnie Anderson, Eagle Rock, VA, Shelby Mullenax and husband, Bill of Harman, Sandra Lambert and husband, Eddie of Seneca, and Wilma Lambert and husband, Johnny of Stuart, VA; three sons, Randolph Gordon, Princeton, and Ronald Gordon and wife Jane, and Donald Gordon and wife, Betty, all of  Green Bank; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one brother, Vernon; and one sister, Nellie.
The Rev. Stanley Kile conducted the funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Basagic Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.  Burial was at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton.
