Notes for Luitgarde Of Toulouse
Notes:
Stuart's "Royalty For Commoners" (54:35) & (195:36), calls her Luitgarde
and identifies her as the dau. of RAYMOND PONS.
Todd A. Farmerie reviews the article "Autour de Roger de Vieux: les alliances matrimoniales des comtes de Carcassonne" from the Annales du Midi, 108:165-187, by Thierry Stasser in a 16 July 1998 posting to GEN-MEDIEVAL (subject: Carcassonne (Toulouse and Rouergue)). Farmerie thinks this is the best work done to date with these families. Farmerie says in that Posting: . "Returning to Raymond's [RAYMOND BORRELL's] mother, the discovery of an additional generation within the Toulouse counts raised some question as to which Raymond was her father. The scheme presented by Stasser would place her clearly in the generation of the new Raymond, as daughter of Raymond Pons. (He also presents an alternative reconstruction, which makes the later Toulouse counts male line descendants of the Counts of Rouergue, but I find this solution less convincing.)" Note that Farmerie has no given name for this woman.
I have seen her identified as the grandaughter, rather than the daughter of RAYMOND PONS, and daughter of ROBERT OF TOULOUSE.

Notes for Borrell II (Spouse 1)
Notes:
T.N. Bisson's, "The Mediaval Crown of Aragon", chart on page 198. He ruled from 947 to 992.
Stuart's "Royalty For Commoners" (54:35) says he was a vassal of the Emirs of Cordova. (195:36) calls him Count of Barcelona.
