David Nash Ford wrote: Antonius Gregorius (alias Anwn Dyfed), King of Dyfed (& probably most of South Wales). It is generally accepted that Macsen's sons Antonius & Dyfed were one & the same person. Dyfed may derive from Donatus or,
more likely, it is a title relating to his Kingdom, where the tribe of the Demetae lived. Gregorius is often misinterpreted as "King of the Greeks".
