Middle name, Bernadine? According to Bessie’s daughter [E. June Brown] Bessie didn’t have a given middle name and gave herself one of her own.
Bessie Brown was born in 1897, She married Emulus Brown and they lived in Kendrick. Their children were Clarence, Thomas, Evelyn (Beckwith), Rosebud (Rukgaber), E. June (Snyder), and Jerry, who still resides at the family home in Kendrick [currently Mayor of Kendrick].90

Bessie [my grandmother] told her daughter June [ my mom] that for Christmas Eve her mom, Cora, would place plates on the dinning room table upside down ... when the kids arose in the morning there would be an orange and a dime on the plates waiting for the kids when they got up on Christmas morning. [ccs]
